Achieving the perfect romantic date has set off its way a few months back since we intended to have an outdoor activities date, mostly filming around the streets of Doha. You have probably seen it on my Instagram feed that we were on the road for some quite time around.
Moving on, it is just so perfect in time that we had our one of the best solid and romantic set up to dine in as we have tried Antica Pesa’s Chef’s Menu that has 4 courses and comes with a pair of a bottle of Italian wine. Of course, what is Italian food without a wine?
Needless to say, in case that you have missed the news flash, Antica Pesa Doha has just won the Best Italian Restaurant in the whole wide of GCC and just recently won the Best Italian Restaurant in Qatar last April 2017. Whew! They are literally bagging the awards from all over the Gulf region.
With great expectations, I have intentionally saved spaces on my tummy to be able to devour on the food that they will be serving to us.
Our fine dine experience started with impeccable starters as fresh bread and a spoon of salad.
Starting it from the first set are the Pizza Margherita and Gricia, both pizzas that are heavenly served with dazzling ingredients that really made me immediately destroy it’s beauty as I immediately attacked it! (Instagram feed fails, yeah I know)
The Vitello Tonnato (right side) was intendedly served cold and surprisingly made on my list of my favorites the moment I tasted it. It’s a classic combination of tender veal and creamy sauce with a slight garnish of spices. The Arancini which was not photographed was also a bomber!
Really felt sorry for these babies as the blogger is a way too excited to eat ’em and forgot to take photos of it.
The moment of truth! You should know by know that Mr. Lucky and I are pasta monsters, specifically red pasta. So, if there is anything that makes this date perfect is the presence of our favorites!
Gladly, red and white sauce pasta are served on our table which best suited our preferences for our taste. Antica Pesa has really scored the table for us!
Spaghettoni Cacio & Pepe (white pasta) is a composition of cheese and pepper, the hallmark and indisputable at Antica Pesa and the Pasta Alla Norma (red pasta) is a classic Sicilican pasta dish that has full of flavor.
FROM THE SEA AND LAND
Now, to tell you honestly we were already full the moment they served these main courses, but what made me going to enjoy the meal is a conversation with Mr. Lucky that has full of wise words and sense of humor. I just love the way he destructs me and made me eat while he talks.
(Well, I do all the talking most of the time!)
Both outdoor and indoor setting gives a relax and minimalistic feeling, with a manner of romantic set up adorned with flowers and candles, just every girl dream of a perfect date night. We chose to be seated inside since Doha’s weather has already set to its natural temperature. You’ll probably know what I am saying, well it was 40 deg, celsius at that time.
Although the outdoor setting with a breeze of wind coming from the gulf sea is just so amusing to feel while dining in during winter months. I mean, cold seasons! But during night time, I assume this outdoor setting is a perfect place with an overview of flashy lights from The Pearl’s.
You’ll definitely agree with me, this one is the finale and the breaker! You can’t say no to a heavenly dessert. Tiramisu and Panna Cotta has extensively mingled their presence on our date.
It looks wonderful with the right amount of sweets and flavors from fresh berries and coffee. Taste are better than the way it looks, trust me on this. I have a special sense when it comes to desserts.
I couldn’t just recommend this place but to strongly recommend since I personally had a good and quality time with it. Special occasions or whatever days that you feel like treating yourself, then this would be the best shot for you!
Video is for you to see to see what’s in Antica Pesa. 🙂
