I really wonder how will the environment reacts if you put all bloggers in one place – colliding. Imagine that this are all bright stars in one portion of the sky, definitely its brighter and will glare all through out the horizon.
Bloggers are the same if you put all together. It made me grateful enough to meet all bloggers with the same passion in life. It is absolutely a tremendous event in my entire blogging experience as I must say. Indeed, a remarkable event not only to me but to all participants and speakers as well.
It swept me off my feet with the recently held blogger conference in Doha organized by Zomato Qatar. It was absolutely jam-packed with information and loaded with Doha bloggers whom I have finally put faces on their social media accounts.
It was to be honest my first time to attend such kind of gathering, if you have been following my posts since I started blogging you know that most of the events I usually attends are my first-time. Although “first-time” is overrated here I don’t exclude the fact that I am enduringly learning with my first-times. So don’t get annoyed if how many times I will use first time.
Attending something new to my senses gives me a feeling of extreme curiosity and excitement. The truth is, my adrenaline is rapidly flushing when there’s something new awaiting to be experienced. It’s something that I have to keep myself feel at ease and so I have to supply it with advance exploration.
I read in advance about this conference, about how others experienced it and what are to expect. Thing is, what I experienced is far away from what I have read on some blog posts.
I’ll tell you why.
I believe you are aware that experience is the best form of learning. And for many times, it never fails to astonish us.
During the event, bloggers of any experience, newbie or professional, novitiate or expert, with 10,000 followers or 100 it maybe – are all connecting and merging to each others, sharing about the stuffs and information gathered all around. With an informative and motivating speakers, I’ll share you some of the highlighted notes I take down during panel discussions and talks:
-
Being passionate is more relatively priceless than having skills. Skills are essential part but the passion has the only power to bring you to success.
-
Measuring the success of a blog/blogger does not only pertain to its number of followers, it is more of the engagement to its readers and the content itself.
-
Every blog/blogger must go back to its merely objective/purpose on how he/she started blogging in the first place.
-
Blog can be possibly monetize through brand advertising, thus brands look for a blog that has unique and creative content, it’s advocacy, the trust and credibility it has established.
-
Blogging is having a definite platform where you can share your thoughts/information for a definite long period of time.
-
Success in general, does not come over night. You have to work for it –real hard and with PASSION.
-
Never entertain negativity on your blog. Your blog’s aim must provide information and bring out positivity to the readers.
-
Blogging is not a competition, nor just an ambition. It is rather exploring more of who you are and discovering what you can share to the world.
-
A good picture plays an important role in blogging.
I could end up enumerating all information I have gathered but above bullets are my top favorites that I would like to share and highlight the most. It has given me such an extraordinary experience for the first time and surely will mark the spirit of blogger inside of me.
The event gathering took place in Grand Hyatt Hotel Doha and was a perfectly organized event with generous food and coffee on each half of the program. It ended with raffle draws with different prizes topping with weekend stay for two at the hotel. I literally prayed for my name to be called, until it was not!
Funny is, as I stood up I felt like I had taken the grand prize ever. And you know what is it? I just earned the best experience, gained blogger friends, learned from experts with #zomatocon. Truly a worth remembering experience. I just hope that there would be a lot of organization will host such kind of event.
Below are the photos I took during the event, you can click the names and check their Instagram too!
From top to bottom, click their names to check their Instagram: Erika, Habiba, Vanessa, Nathalie, Mirna, Kate, Donna, Renz, Zeke, Mo, Karen, Dani, Elizabeth, and Hamad.
For more detailed writeup, you can check with my blogger friend BestlifeQatar here.
Thank you for this post. I am very new to blogging and didn’t even know that conferences existed. Perhaps I will have a first of my own and attend one in the future. And, thank you for stopping by my blog!

I think this is a great way for the community to meet and learn more about each other and blogging. I’m happy for you that you got to experience such an event.
One thing that really struck me among your points is this:
“Blogging is not a competition, nor just an ambition. It is rather exploring more of who you are and discovering what you can share to the world.”
